| A Tresure Trove of Tempting Tastes The name El Tesoro, which means "the treasure," is the perfect sobriquet for this jewel of a restaurant, tucked away in the historic downtown "arts" district of Colorado Springs. Just a short walk (down hill, no less!) from the Antler's Hilton Hotel, El Tesoro offers guests an authentic taste of Santa Fe Style Cuisine in a charming southwestern setting. "The Treasure" of Sierra Madre Street, is the latest in a long and colorful history of tenants that have occupied this building since the early 1900s. Since then, the building has housed a number of craftsmen and artisans, including the noted interior designer Marshall Morin, whose decor graced the Broadmoor Hotel and many of Colorado Springs' fine homes during the '60s and '70s. We like to think the 1991 conversion of this building into a cozy adobe Southwestern style restaurant is a proud addition to the building's history.
Great Santa Fe Style Cuisine isn't the only thing our family-owned restaurant brings to the table. The restaurant--a quaint Spanish-style building with rustic tile floors, a lively kiva-inspired fireplace, and fabulous architectural appointments such as rough-hewn ceiling beams called vigas, is also a gallery of original paintings, pottery, and sculpture by regional artists and craftsmen.
El Tesoro is a quiet, relaxed, intimate setting. So whether you're dining indoors or at a table in the patio garden, you'll find the atmosphere comfortable, the service friendly, and the cuisine deliciously memorable.
